Set Up Your WhatsApp Business Account

Connect a business-owned WhatsApp sender before using campaigns, templates or the inbox. The WhatsApp Account / Setup page also shows whether an account is ready and which action is still required.

| Method | Best use case | Existing number | Meta login | WhatsApp Business App | Contacts and history | Setup complexity | Availability | | — | — | — | — | — | — | — | — | — | | Standard Embedded Signup | Most new or migrated Cloud API senders | Supported when Meta permits migration | Required | The number moves to the Cloud API workflow | Not presented as a Business App history import | Guided | Recommended when available | | Connect a WhatsApp Business App | Keep using an eligible number in the app and Yepsta | Yes | Required | Continues working | Eligible contacts and recent history can be shared | Guided, with initial sync | Conditional rollout | | Manual setup | An existing Cloud API account prepared with Yepsta Support | Yes | Not inside Yepsta | No coexistence onboarding | No Business App history setup | Advanced | Owner-only |

  • Confirm you are the business owner and can sign in to the correct Meta Business Portfolio.
  • Decide which business location should own the sender, or choose all locations and assign it later.
  • Make sure the number belongs to your business and is not already connected to another Yepsta business.
  • Keep access to the phone and Meta account needed to verify the exact number.
Choose a connection method
  1. Open Communication → WhatsApp Account / Setup.
  2. Select Connect WhatsApp Business.
  3. Choose the location scope.
  4. Confirm I am the business owner and I understand Meta will ask me to approve the selected connection mode.
  5. Choose Set up a new Cloud API number or, when available, Keep using the WhatsApp Business App.
  6. Select Continue to Meta and complete the prompts.

For the full Meta and coexistence journey, see Connect WhatsApp with Embedded Signup.

Choose Manual setup / advanced only when the sender is already prepared and Yepsta Support has confirmed this is the correct connection method.

Connect an account with guided advanced setup
  1. Select Manual setup / advanced.
  2. Choose the location and enter a clear Account Name.
  3. Complete the protected connection fields only from the business owner’s authorised Meta setup or the instructions supplied by Yepsta Support.
  4. Choose the account status and save.
  5. Select Test Connection, then Sync Templates.
  6. If Sender Activation appears, complete the on-screen verification step.

The account card may show Ready to Send, Sync Templates, Partially Ready, Setup Warning, Webhook Warning or Needs Verification. Follow the action on the same card:

  • Test Connection checks whether Yepsta can use the saved account.
  • Sync Templates refreshes template status from Meta.
  • Check Webhook or Retry Webhook rechecks an Embedded Signup connection when the account card asks for it.
  • Mark Active / Inactive controls whether the account can be selected for sending.

Do not launch a campaign until the intended account and an approved template are ready.

The owner-only Campaign 2.0 safety panel shows Compatibility mode until enforcement is enabled. Turning on Enable Campaign 2.0 enforcement requires explicit customer marketing opt-in and activates quiet-hours, frequency-limit and notification-credit checks for campaigns.

Save campaign safety settings
  1. Confirm the Timezone used for marketing schedules.
  2. Set Quiet starts and Quiet ends, then choose whether Quiet hours enabled is on.
  3. Set Rolling days, Max / window and Min interval hours.
  4. Add an optional Daily ceiling.
  5. Review the comma-separated Opt-out keywords.
  6. Turn on Enable Campaign 2.0 enforcement when the consent records and credit workflow are ready.
  7. Select Save safety settings.

Rolling days accepts 1–90, Max / window accepts 1–50, Min interval hours accepts 0–720 and Daily ceiling accepts 1–1,000,000 when supplied. The owner should choose limits appropriate to the business and applicable messaging rules, not automatically use the maximum.

Deleting an account in Yepsta is a business-level action and requires confirmation. Removing Yepsta as a partner in the WhatsApp Business App is different: the account can appear as Disconnected in WhatsApp, retained conversation history remains visible, and new sending and syncing stop. Contact Yepsta Support before reconnecting if the status or Meta ownership is unclear.
